University of Greenwich

On behalf of the University of Greenwich, Derwent fm manages three very different properties in East London. Located in the heart of Greenwich, the sites form part of the vibrant local community and are close to the Docklands Light Railway, independent shops and bars.

Devonport House, opposite the main campus, is a sympathetic refurbishment of a historic, Grade-II listed building. All 125 study bedrooms incorporate ensuite bathroom facilities and have access to shared kitchens and communal areas. This hall is reserved for postgraduate students and we ensure that meticulous management standards are enforced to preserve the peaceful atmosphere.

Daniel Defoe Hall was purpose-built in 2014 and provides 358 en-suite rooms in a mix of flat-shares, studios and two-bedroom apartments. There are two communal areas and a mini-gym for residents, while the bedrooms benefit from Wifi and direct IT network access. Derwent fm regularly manages events here during the summer holidays and throughout the year.

Cutty Sark Hall comprises 231 single study bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities in shared self-catering flats. The hall forms part of a development in the centre of Greenwich, right by the Thames and among shops and bars.

The bedrooms at each hall are fitted out with comfortable furniture, study facilities and mini-fridges. Launderette facilities are provided for use by residents.

Bicycle storage is available at all sites and we oversee the management of a Brompton bike scheme at Daniel Defoe Hall.

The communal garden courtyard at Cutty Sark Hall is maintained by Derwent fm’s specialist landscapers, providing an external space for relaxation and study.
